The counter carries sewing threads, buttons, zips, laces and gota, elastic, linings, hooks and fasteners, borders, trims, needles and marking tools. Items are sold individually, by the metre or in bulk, with bulk rates for tailors and student rates for course students. No stitching order is needed to buy. Stock changes with the season and demand. If you need something specific in quantity, call ahead and we will tell you what is on the shelf before you make the trip.
If you stitch for a living or you are learning to, buying in small quantities every week costs you more in both money and trips. We supply in bulk at rates that reflect that.

Yes. The munyari counter is open to anyone during shop hours, no stitching order required. Plenty of customers come only for thread, zips or lace.
Yes. Bulk rates apply for working tailors buying in quantity, and students on our training programmes get student rates on practice material. Standing orders can be arranged for regular items.
Yes, and you should. Bring the fabric or a swatch to the counter. Matching in person against the actual material is far more reliable than picking by colour name.
Yes, suit lengths and dress materials are stocked alongside the munyari, so fabric, lining, buttons and thread can all be picked in one visit.
Cut lengths of lace, elastic, lining and similar cannot be returned once cut, since they cannot be resold. Please check the length and colour at the counter before we cut. Full terms are on the terms and conditions page.
Thread in the colours you use most, common zip lengths, hooks, elastic in two widths and basic lining. Ask at the counter and we will talk it through, or take the Fashion Designing course, where Module 9 covers stock and pricing properly.
