Why Buy Here

We Sell What We Use, Not What Sells

A general shop stocks whatever the distributor pushes. We stock what survives on our own orders, because if a zip fails or a lining shrinks, the customer brings the garment back to us, not to the supplier.

That filter matters more than price. A cheap zip on a bridal outfit is not a saving, it is a repair waiting to happen the week of the function.

  • Everything on the shelf is stock we run our own stitching work on
  • Bring your fabric and match thread, lining and buttons against it in person
  • Honest advice on what a particular fabric actually needs

What the Counter Carries

01

Sewing Threads

A wide colour range in standard and fine weights, so the stitch line matches your fabric instead of sitting a shade off. Bring a swatch and match it properly.

02

Buttons

Plain, fancy, pearl, metal, wooden and covered buttons in assorted sizes. Sold singly, so you buy what you need rather than a card of twelve.

03

Zips

Nylon, metal, invisible and open ended zips in common lengths and colours. Also used for our own zip replacement work.

04

Laces and Gota

Net lace, gota, zari lace, crochet and fancy trims, sold by the metre. Match them against your dupatta at the counter before buying.

05

Elastic and Nada

Flat and cord elastic in several widths, plus nada for salwar waists. The width you pick changes how the waist sits.

06

Linings

Cotton, satin and net linings. Essential under georgette, chiffon and net, and the single most skipped item on party wear.

07

Hooks and Fasteners

Hook and eye sets, press buttons, saree pins and blouse hooks in several sizes and finishes.

08

Borders and Trims

Decorative borders for hems, sleeves and dupatta edges, often used alongside piko and lace work.

09

Needles and Tools

Machine and hand needles in assorted sizes, plus chalk, measuring tape, scissors, pins and marking tools.

Stock changes with the season and demand. If you need something specific in quantity, call ahead and we will tell you what is on the shelf before you make the trip.

Bulk Supply

For Tailors, Students and Home Stitchers

If you stitch for a living or you are learning to, buying in small quantities every week costs you more in both money and trips. We supply in bulk at rates that reflect that.

  • Bulk rates on thread, zips, buttons, elastic, lining and lace for working tailors
  • Student rates on practice material for anyone on our Fashion Designing course or ITI practical training
  • Standing orders for regular items, so your usual stock is set aside
  • Advice on what to keep in stock if you are setting up on your own

Module 9 of our course covers exactly this: what a home setup should hold, what to buy per order, and how to price material into a customer quote instead of absorbing it.

Questions

Material and Munyari FAQs

Can I buy material without getting stitching done?

Yes. The munyari counter is open to anyone during shop hours, no stitching order required. Plenty of customers come only for thread, zips or lace.

Do you supply tailors and students in bulk?

Yes. Bulk rates apply for working tailors buying in quantity, and students on our training programmes get student rates on practice material. Standing orders can be arranged for regular items.

Can I match thread and lining to my own fabric?

Yes, and you should. Bring the fabric or a swatch to the counter. Matching in person against the actual material is far more reliable than picking by colour name.

Do you sell dress material and fabric too?

Yes, suit lengths and dress materials are stocked alongside the munyari, so fabric, lining, buttons and thread can all be picked in one visit.

Can cut material be returned?

Cut lengths of lace, elastic, lining and similar cannot be returned once cut, since they cannot be resold. Please check the length and colour at the counter before we cut. Full terms are on the terms and conditions page.

What should I keep in stock if I stitch at home?

Thread in the colours you use most, common zip lengths, hooks, elastic in two widths and basic lining. Ask at the counter and we will talk it through, or take the Fashion Designing course, where Module 9 covers stock and pricing properly.
